When Andhra CM Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy gifted Rs 20 lakh to Indian
tennis' poster girl Sania Mirza, he thought, he was doing a good deed. But his own sports minister, M. Satyanarayana Rao, thought otherwise and made no secret of it. His objection: Sania has the advantage of being in a glamorous game like tennis but there are others who are equally deserving. He would rather see chess players like Koneru Humpy and P. Harikrishna from Hyderabad, nowhere close to Sania in the looks department, getting state patronage. YSR now doesn't know whether to smash or to castle.
