This is an statement inviting to investigate the blog of Sherly Isaac on "Why Quran is not word of God?"
First of all you may agree that the substitution of a word by another, even subtley different from the original one can change the meaning of the sentence drastically. I hope it needs not a debate. And translating from one language to another, is a demanding task. And even a master's translation cannot exactly represent the original; this you may be familiar with. And translating the text of "God", and that too across "conflicting" (I would have preffered using religions with same source but with deviations) religions, is very demanding, and the first requirement for the translation to be reliable is that the translator should be impartial. Even then, for a masterpiece, analyzing the translation in releation to the context cannot be overemphasised.
I, even though a Muslim, don't know much about Islam, except the fundamental and basics besides some basic portions of Islam. But I request all my "Human brothers and sisters" to analyze Quran with an open mind, just to find out the truth.
I want to add few fundamental things about Islam, and place of other religions, particularly Judaism and Christianity, in Islam:
1. "Islam" means, contextually and literally, "Submission to the will of Allah". This means that whatever you say, you believe in, you think of, or you do, should be in line with Allah's will.
2. There is no God (one who is worshipped, exept Allah. He is the only "God".
3. He has no needs and no one is like him. He begets not, nor was he begotten. That is, he has no ancestory and no progeny.
3.He is the creator of the heavens and earth, and he drives it and he will destroy it on the "Day of Judgement". Then he will raise all the dead from Prophet Adam (may peace be upon him)to the last person. And this is the "Day of Judgement" when Allah, Almighty is the Supreme Judge and he will judge all according to their deeds.
4. A person cannot be a Muslim unless he affrims his faith in:
(i) in Allah as the sole "God" and Muhammad (PBUH) as the last prophet.
(ii) in Angels, like Jibrael or Gabriel (A.S.), Izrael (A.S.) and all others. Denying the existence of angels nullifies your faith in Allah and do not remain a Muslim anymore.
(iii) in all the books viz.: Toraah, Zaboor (Psalms), Injeel (Bible) and Quran, as the "word" (revelations) of Allah. And that the Quran is the final word of Allah and no further Word (book) will be revealed afterwards. And that the revelation of a new book nullifies the authority of the previous' one/ones in all matters. Besides the previous ones were tempered with by the people. But, denying the fact that these books were sent by Allah, nullifies your faith in Allah and you do not remain a Muslim anymore.
(iv) in the Prophets and Messengers, from the first, Adam (may peace be upon him), to the last Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), inclusive of Moosa or Moses (Peace be upon him), Dawood or David (Peace be upon him), Isaa ibn-e-Maryam or Jesus the son of Mary (Peace be upon him) and all others. Denying the status of Prophet to any one of them nullifies your faith in Allah and you are excluded from Islam.
(v) in the last Day or the Day of Judgement, when all people will be raised from dead and will be judged each according to their own deeds. Denying this, you are rejected from Islam.
(vi) in the "eternel life", the life after death which has no end. Whosoever succeds on the day of Judgement will be rewarded with the Paradise, and this is "the highest achievement". While who fail on that day will be condemned to "Hell", and a dreadful place, with raging fire that is!
This truth is universal, and every single person who poses some basic questions to himself, like, say, how was life, universe, matter & energy etc. created? Was it by pure chance? If not, than what created it? What was "His" purpose? Can we get to know about "Him" and "His" purpose? Why? or Why not? or How? and many such questions. And we need to find their answers. We will certainly arrive at these answers if we are honest, although with some impartial investigation and analysis using our elf-conscience as the guiding light. I request my brother (as a human being) Mr Sherly Isaac in particular and all brothers and sisters including fellow Muslims to analyze the Quran thoroughly with the sprit and context of a faithful human being using your conscience as the guiding light. Maly Allah, Almighty guide us to truth in our beliefs and allow us to lead our lives submitting to His will.! Aameen!! Ya Rabb-ul-Aalameen (Accept this prayer O! Lord of the Worlds!). |
