Title: Streamlined Automated Logistics Transmission System (SALTS) Project
Description: SALTS aboard a ship or at a shore site accumulates data from various sources within the activity (i.e., requisitions from the SNAP system, payroll data, from UMIDS, and messages from MTF). Each data file is assigned a unique name and then compressed to about one-third its original size. The data is then encrypted and transmitted to SALTS Central at the NAVICP, Philadelphia, PA.
