Folger Theatre
The Elizabethan Theatre - with three-tiered gallery, carved oak columns, and sky canopy - has walls
of timber and plaster. The inner and outer stages, balcony, and "heavens" are reminiscent
of an innyard theatre of Shakespeare's time and provide an ideal setting for lectures, musical and
theatre productions. The theatre seats 200 people in the orchestra level (the "pit" in
Shakespeare's day) and an additional 50 in the upper galleries.
