Alabama Genealogy Web: Coosa County
Coosa County was created in 1832 from lands ceded in the Creek Indian Treaty of Cusseta and from
parts of Montogomery County. It is named for the Coosa River which forms the county's western
boundary. The county seat is Rockford.
